Botox®
What is Botox®?
A natural purified protein produced by Clostridium botulinum bacterium.
Is it dangerous?
No. It is a purified form of the protein and is injected in very small amounts so there is virtually no risk.
How does it work?
It is injected into a muscle to temporarily paralyze the muscle to prevent movement and assist wrinkle reduction. It is the repeated movement of muscles that causes wrinkles so by preventing movement it helps reduce or soften wrinkles.
Is there any pre-treatment?
You need to not take any medications with aspirin, ibuprofen and/or Vitamin E in them for 1 week prior to treatment. This will decrease the risk of bruising at the injection site.
Is there any post treatment?
You will need to keep your head up for 4 hours after treatment, which means no naps, exercise or heavy lifting.
Does it hurt?
There is very minimal discomfort, no local or topical anesthesia is necessary.
Laser Hair Reduction
Is it permanent?
It is permanent hair reduction. Every person is different, therefore we can’t promise complete hair removal but most experience 50-90% permanent hair reduction. Maintenance sessions may be necessary in some cases.
Is there any pretreatment?
You can not pluck, wax, use a depilatory or have electrolysis in the areas you want to treat for 6 weeks prior to laser hair removal. Do not tan the areas for 4 weeks prior to treatment. Avoid using self-tanning products for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
What post treatment is necessary?
You will need to wear sunscreen regularly during your laser treatment package and for 6 weeks after completing your packages. Avoid irritants for seven days after treatment.
Does it hurt?
There is minimal discomfort. It feels like a rubber band snap. Topical anesthesia can be used for areas that are more sensitive.
Latisse™
What is Latisse™?
Latisse™ solution is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker.
How does it work?
The active ingredient in Latisse™ is bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is not known, research suggests that the growth of eyelashes occurs by increasing the percent of hairs in, and the duration of, the anagen (or growth) phase. Lashes can grow longer, thicker and darker because bimatoprost can also prolong this growth phase.
How do I apply Latisse™?
It is a once-a-day treatment you apply yourself each evening to the base of the upper eyelashes.
How soon will I see results?
You may see results starting at 4 weeks with full results after 16 weeks. The growth is gradual overnight, over time.
What if I get some in my eye?
It is a ophthalmic drug product, so if any gets in the eye it is not expected to cause harm. The eye should not be rinsed.
Radiesse®
What is Radiesse®?
It is a dermal filler made of calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel, and is injected into the skin through a simple and minimally invasive procedure. It has patented microsphere technology and stimulates the body to produce new collagen for a soft, natural look that lasts.
Is it safe?
In years of rigorous clinical testing and use by physicians in hundreds of thousands of patients worldwide, RADIESSE dermal filler has been proven to be safe and effective.
How soon can I expect results?
You’ll see results immediately after treatment. RADIESSE dermal filler continues to deliver results over time as it stimulates your body to produce new collagen. Results may last up to a year or more in many patients, which may result in fewer office visits for retreatment.
Is there any downtime?
Most patients experience little to no downtime and return to normal activities almost immediately after treatment. Other patients may need more time for recovery. By 24 hours after treatment, most swelling and redness will have subsided.
Juvéderm®
What is Juvéderm®?
It is an injectable gel that temporarily adds volume to facial tissue and restores a smoother appearance to the face. Juvéderm® injectable gel is available in two formulations to allow your healthcare professional to tailor treatment to your unique needs. Juvéderm® Ultra provides versatility in contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds. Juvéderm® Ultra Plus is a more robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and wrinkles
How long does it last?
It is FDA approved to last up to 1 year; therefore, touch-up injections as well as repeat injections are usually needed to maintain optimal corrections.
Are there side effects?
Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature, and their duration is short lasting (7 days or less). The most common side effects include, but are not limited to, temporary injections site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. As with all skin injection procedures there is a risk of infection.
